Nathan Atkinson

Personal

Hi! I'm Nathan. I live near Salt Lake City, UT. I have a wonderful wife and beautiful 4-year-old daughter. I love visiting our national parks, biking, gaming, and writing.

Professional

I work for a company called Instructure (the company behind Canvas, aka I-Learn at BYU-I) as a Community Operations Specialist. Basically just a fancy title that means I make sure our community platform and resources are running smoothly, looks nice, and works properly. Before I worked here, I worked as a help desk technician for a financial company.

Education

I graduated in 2014 with an AS in English and in 2016 with a BA in English. I'm now combining my love of writing with my love of computers to become a web developer, hoping to tell stories with code and writing online. I'm pursuing two online web development certificates through BYU-I online to build a stronger foundation for the programming and web development I've been learning on my own for the past year.

Other

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life. One of my favorite scripture stories is when Christ gives sight to the blind man. I've only been at BYU-I for a couple of days, but my favorite thing is that I'm able to affordably take online classes on a flexible schedule from the comfort of my home.
